 Important Message regarding SREMS

Please read the attached memo regarding the operation of SREMS.   The Bureau of Fire highly suggest that all heads of agencies make contact with your Medical Directors to ensure local credentialing of ALS providers.  Also, if you are not already doing so, you need to put a mechanism in place for backing up your ePCRs.  Perhaps the easiest and simplest way is to print off complete (not QA) copies of every PCR your type and file them, much as we did with the old paper PCRs. If you are more technically advanced you can use the ALERT software to back up files as a PDF, but understand the ALERT system will be shut down when the PA closes.  Also, prepare for ePCR failures that cannot be addressed and have a backup system in place (either a commercial electronic charting system or a stack of paper PCRs).  Finally, contact your local state politicians and explain why this is such a problem and needs to be addressed.  We wish we could have provided an earlier notice on this topic, any questions do not hesitate to call Deputy Fire Coordinator Jansen Casscles.  We will do everything we can to assist but unfortunately so many of they services can only be provided at a regional level.
